It would be a great world if we could change our fat into muscle. In this fantasy world, there would be unicorns prancing and leprechauns offering up pots of gold as well. Unfortunately, it does not work like that. Changing fat into muscle is a myth that has been reiterated at some point in every gym across the country.
How to Get Rid of Fat
The fat you currently have inside your body can be eliminated through exercise and diet, but it cannot be changed over into muscle. If you would like to lose weight (fat), you simply need to be burning more calories than you are ingesting.
Also, consider the foods you are eating. If you are consuming a thousand calories from potato chips and soda, this is not the same as consuming a thousand calories from protein, fruits, and vegetables. Eating healthy foods that provide vitamins and minerals will allow you to lose weight much better than highly processed foods that offer no nutrition at all.
How Muscle Is Created
The way to build muscle is through strength training. An easy program to follow would be lifting weights every other day. Of course, conform to a routine that has you focusing on all muscle groups in the body. Do not just do bicep curls and flat bench press every day. Concentrate on everything such as legs, back, shoulders, triceps, biceps, core, chest, and so on.
If you would like to accelerate the muscle-building process, consume a high protein diet. Protein combined with strength training will add quality muscle mass. And if you are going to put forth the effort to bang weights around every other day, then follow the right diet to better your results.
An added bonus of increasing your muscle mass is that muscles burn calories even while resting. This means the fat will come off much easier as you boost the amount of muscle your body is carrying.
Keep It Simple
Strength training will increase muscle mass and bone density (which is a very good thing). This will have you feeling stronger, younger, and will help you maintain an active lifestyle even as you age into your golden years. Eat a healthy diet and stick with a strength training routine and you won’t have to worry about using some sort of magic to change your fat into muscle ever again!
